Joshua, a resident of Amigour in Jerusalem, immigrated to Israel (Aliyah) from the United States. Following his retirement, he found himself struggling financially and often relying on friends for accommodation. Facing rising rental prices in the city, Joshua applied for an apartment through Amigour – a UIA supported facility offering heavily subsidised and sheltered housing for the elderly and Holocaust survivors.

Since moving into the facility in his late 60’s, Joshua has found peace, dignity, financial independence and a sense of belonging – often sharing meals and socialising with his neighbours.

“If there wasn’t Amigour, I don’t know where I would be today,” Shares Joshua, “I am very grateful to have been provided with this.”
